No one is mentioning Croatia as possible favourites of this World Cup and this is nice bonus for them as they can prepare for matches of World Cup and feel no real pressure beside one from home fans. You will read in next rows why I feel this Croatia team can do some damage even to top teams of this World Cup and I must say I would not be surprised to much is they draw or beat Brazil in opening match of World Cup as all the pressure on this world will be on Brazil players shoulders and anything but win would be disaster for Brazil football fans.
In goal Croatia can choose between some solid and experienced goalkeepers like Pletikosa and Subasic from Monaco. They are not some extra class goalkeepers but reliable enough not to do big damage to Croatia team in moments that will matter.
In defence they have Lovren from Southampton that had great season in Premier League this season, Corluka, Strinic, Srna, Vrsaljko again nothing special but when you compare their defence to defence of teams like Argentina or even Spain you see there is not some big difference.
Then it comes reason why I rate this Croatian team as one on possible surprises of this World Cup. Coach Kovac can place following players in middfield. Rakitic brain or Sevilla team, Modric or of best players of Real this season, Kovacic from Inter and beside them he can rotate some experienced players like Olic, Eduardo, Pranjic and in attack he can always count on Bayern Madzukic. Backup for Madzukic is Hull City Jelavic.
All in all Croatian team has some solid players and some world top class players and no real pressure so if they play smart and will have some luck they can go far on this world cup but if they think they are too good and will underestimate some opponents they could easy stay in group.
I would rate Croatia team power rank as 75/100.
