Basicly France has really bad luck to meet Argentina so early in play offs. Even Argentina is struggling in this World Cup they are still team full of stars and will be really serious challange for France I would even give them equal chances to advance to next round.
On goal France have Hugo Lloris from Tottenham, there are also Alphonse Areola from PSG and Steve Mandanda from Marseill and it is true they are not in top 10 keepers on world but they are not far behind this elit group.
In central back they have great duo of Real Madrid Raphael Varane and Barcelona Samuel Umtiti. On left back they also have great Benjamin Mendy from Man City while on left side they have Djibril Sidibe from Sevilla. Even if some of those will not play they have plenty great alterntives so their defence is strong.
Biggest name in midfield is Paul Pogba from Man United but he needs to find form. There are also Kante from Chelsea, talanted Adrien Rabiot from PSG, Nabil Fekir from Lyon, Corentin Tolisso from Bayern and Tiemou?Š Bakayoko from Chelsea so Deschamps will have hard task to choose who will play as are all top class players.
Even if their midfiled is scary their attack is even better. PSG star Kylian Mbappe and Atletico star Antoine Griezmann are among top 10 players in the world right now. But there are also other great players like experienced Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, great scorer Wissam Ben Yedder from Sevilla, great winger Thomas Lemar from Monaco, Anthony Martial from Manchester Untied and Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal to mention just best of them.
Argentina is lead by home coach Jorge Sampaoli. On goal they have two options, two experienced keepers Franco Armani and Nahuel Guzman that both play in Argentina. There is also experienced Willy Caballero that is in Chelsea but did not play a lot. Keeper position could be big problem for Argentina.
Without a doubt defence is on much higher level with central defender Nicolas Otamendi from Man City and Marcos Rojo from Man United. There is also Federico Fazio from Roma. On right back they have Gabriel Mercado from Sevilla and on left back Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax.
In midfield they have experienced Javier Mascherano that play in China now, talanted Giovani Lo Celso from PSG, Ever Banega from Sevilla, Lucas Biglia from AC Milan, Manuel Lanzini from West Ham and some other players similar level. This are all solid team players but I do not see any players that will make difference among them.
Attack is where Argentina power is. Messi from Barca, Dybala and Higuain from Juve, Sergio Aguero from Manchester City and Angel Di Mar?a from PSG are all players that makes difference when on field. I think option is also that Messi will play more like attacking midfilder as there are so many attacking players in this lineup.
France play better then Argentina on this world cup but I know their group was little bit easier. But this is one match all in stake and as I said I think odds are equal for both teams to go to next round. As bookies favour France I will go against them and stake on Argentina to win this match.
