First review of both linups.
Morocco is one of African teams that will try to show that African football is developing really fast and they can compete equaliy with top europeana and south america teams. Best keeper in Morocco team is Bono that play for Girona.
In defence they have great cetral back Medhi Benatia from Juventus and he will play in pair with Zouhair Feddal from Betis so their central defence is really sold. On right back they have talanted 19 year old Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid. Weakest is position of left back. There is talanted Hamza Mendyl but he is not on level of other players in defence.
Midfield is even stronger. They have great Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, Sofiane Boufal from Southampton, Amine Harit from Schalke and experienced Younes Belhanda from Glatasaray. Even if some of them can not play there are many good replacements.
In attack best option is for sure experienced Youssef El Arabi. They also have some other experienced players like Amrabat or Assaidi but their attack is not on level of defence and midfield but we can see it will be really hard to score against them. They have great defensive oriented players and fighting mentality.
Iran will for sure not be among top half teams in World Cup. It is true that they have solid coach in Portuguese Carlos Queiroz but players he has are just not top class.
On goal they have Alireza Beiranvand that plays in Iran and Amir Abedzadeh that plays for Maritimo in Portugal.
Defence is similar level as keeper position. There are Morteza Pouraliganji that plays in Qatar on central defender position while all other central defenders play in Iran. On left back they have Milad Mohammadi that plays in Russian Grozny. On right back they have Ramin Rezaeian from Oostende.
In midfield they have captain Masoud Shojaei that plays for AEK from Greece and talanted Saeid Ezatolahi that play for Amkar Perm.
Attack is best part of Iran team with Rubin Kazan striker Sardar Azmoun and Karim Ansarifard from Olympiakos. There is also one realy solid winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh that play in Holland AZ.
So they can score some goals but they will for sure also receive a lot of goals.
Neither team has some extra quality. But for example Iran beat Algeria that play similar football as Morocco in friendly before WC so it is not so simple pick as odds suggest. I have feeling we will not see many goals in this match as neither team will want to lose. Under 1.5
