Lets look at booth teams first.
Russia is host for World Cup 2018 and they invest lot of money into team to prepare as good as possible for this event. Team is lead by coach Stanislav Cherchesov. When we look at their rooster we see that on goal they have really solid Igor Akinfeev and he can bring some value to Russia team.
Defence is maybe even weakest part of Russia team. Giorgi Jikia from Spartak, Schennikov from CSKA and Smolnikov from Zenit are most noticable players that play in defence. It is true that they can still performe well but I think this is little disadvantage for Russia.
In midfield coach has bigger choice and many solid players like Aleksandr Golovin and Alan Dzagoev from CSKA, Oleg Shatov from Krasnodar or Denis Glushakov from Spartak Moscow. There is also talanted Aleksey Miranchuk from Lokomotiv Moscow.
For central striker they have two really good options in Fedor Smolov from Krasnodar and Aleksandr Kokorin rom Zenit. There is also experienced Artem Dzyuba from CSKA. They are little bit weak on winger positions but they use formation where they do not need wingers.
Russia is really solid team and on home field they will be really hard to beat for everyone.
Saudi Arabia is lead by Spanish coach Juan Antonio Pizzi. Team is really average so we can not expect some big surprise from them but they will play in fighting mode for sure.
On goal they have experienced Yasser Al-Mosailem that is plaing in Saudi Arabia same as all other keeper alternatives.
Same is defence almost all players play either in Saudi Al Hilal or in Saudi Al Ahli only Omar Hawsawi play in Al Nasr but this is also Saudi team. So theri advantage in defence should be that they play a lot with each other.
In midfield they have two Al Shabab players beside players from already mentioned teams. Only player that do not play in Saudi Arabia is Yahya Al-Shehri who play in SPain for Leganes.
In attack they have little bit better players with Levante winger Fahad Al-Muwallad and Villareal winger Salem Al-Dawsari. There is also experienced striker Mohammed Al-Sahlawi from Al Naser.
As for prediction I think Russia should win this match and start their home World Cup with win. TIP 1
